According to the Environmental Health Agency (EHA), a chemical compound - call 'perfluorooctanoic, or PFOA.
PFOA has been connected to Thyroid Disease, and is readily found in:
-teflon and non-stick cookware - yes, your regular pots and pans,
-stain resistant carpets and clothing,
-microwave popcorn,
-and some cleaning products.
According to the EHA, 3,966 Americans over the age of 20 were found to have remarkably high levels of PFOA in their blood stream. Making them twice as likely to develop thyroid disease.
Thyroid disease can happen to anyone, of any age and ethnicity. Thyroid disease impacts the lymph nodes in the neck and is known to cause weight gain, excessive hair growth, tiredness and depression, and infertility.
