Healing Yoga is the perfect solution to the over-stressed life we encounter daily.

I created Healing Yoga to be restorative and supportive, to exert little to no energy, to remove energy blockages in the body (through pressure points), and so revive us when we are sick, run-down, mentally drain, burned out and essentially spent.

Healing Yoga is FREE three times a day on THURSDAY. Do your body and mind a favor and join us!

Daily Adaptogen

An adaptogen is an Ayurvedic herbal formula. Ayurveda is the oldest system of medicine on the planet; the word means 'art of living'. Ayurveda identifies the cause of disease as a seperation of mind, body and consciousness, due to the degenerative effects of mental, emotional and physical stress. Nor is this my idea alone, for Ayurveda has been readily tested by the American Medical Association, and shown effective in reducing stress by 85%.

A daily adaptogen is an excellent way to energize you, being far better and healthful than a cup of coffee. Additionally, adaptogens are very beneficial for those who are generally tired, weak or suffering from old-age and physical illness. In all, an adaptogen helps the body adapt to physiological and psychological stress. // Whatever your reason, a daily adaptogen will combat the stress and toxins we encounter in every aspect of our live, so are perfect for a peaceful and anti-aging program.

In Ayurveda, there are many adaptogens, most are both readily available and easy to take.

Ashwahganda and Chyawanprash are both found in Indian grocery stores. They are herbal mixtures that are easily spread like jam on a piece of bread. They also have a wonderful taste. Both tone and normalize bodily functions while strengthening our resistance to stress and daily toxins. In particular, Chyawanprash is excellent for building immunity and lessening the symptoms of depression.

Turmeric. Yes, the same turmeric found in the spice section at the local grocery store. This is an excellent anti-inflammatory and has a regenerative effect on the liver. Likewise, it has been proven to resist cancerious tumors. A simple tea can be made from a pinch of turmeric and drank for breakfast.

"Namaste"

"Namaste" is a Sanskrit term that means 'mutual respect', or, what makes us human is the humanity we show each other.

More than an expression - akin to 'Aloha', which can be used to say 'goodbye' or 'hello' - it’s a worldview that sees humanity as a web of family rather than a mass of individuals.

When you relate in this way, you feel connected, energized and have a sense of abundance.

So the next person you meet: touch your palms in front of your heart, and with sincere intent, wish them "Namaste!"

Love

You get what you focus on!

How many times have so many of you heard me say this?

Countless times, no doubt, because it is a true statement and one that I live by.

For example: If we want love, then its best to start in small ways to love all things.

This can mean, petting your cat or hugging a tree even, because every animal and every leaf on a tree contains atoms of the divine, so are part of all existence. Understand this and come closer to loving yourself equally as those around you.

Nor is love relegated to physical love alone, for the body does not need to be loved, but our Being does.

Most of us are curious .. its part of our nature. As such, get curious about what would happen or how our life would change if you started to love yourself and love others. Think of it as an experiment, to see if it works. Afterall, Yoga has long recommended that we be the scientist, seeking answers for ourselves. So get curious about love, about devotion and dedication to your Yoga practice.
